Welcome to the Scituate Cohasset
Newcomers Club (SCNC)! Whether
you've just moved here, returned to the area or have just experienced a
change in your life, the SCNC is a great way to get involved in your
community and to meet new friends.
Every month, we issue a newsletter (complete
with Classified Ads)
which includes the schedule of social events. Some of these
events are geared toward adults, while others involve caregivers
&
tots or the entire family. Some of our annual events include
our
Fall Kick Off Party, Children's Halloween Party, Chili Cook Off and
Summer BBQ. Every season we add new events and revise old
events
depending on the needs of our members. Special
interest groups are constantly developing as your creative ideas are
presented. We
hope that you will find the Club has a lot to offer from Book Groups
and Playgroups to Ladies Nights Out and Men's Group, just to name a
few.
Additionally, some of the club activities make it easy for
members
to contribute to the community through our service projects
which have included Habitat for Humanity and the Magical Moon
Foundation.
We know you will find the SCNC has just the
right mixture to provide you
with an easy and comfortable transition to the area or an opportunity
to meet new friends. So mark your calendars today and have
some
fun!

Dear Newcomers,
We hope you've had a relaxing summer
and are ready to take part in all the exciting events that the new
season of SCNC has to offer! I would like to announce that Beth Golden
will be joining me as co-president; we are both excited to take on Sue
and Becky's roles and we would like to thank them for their support and
all their hard work last season. We are thrilled that so many new
people have joined the board, our first meeting was full of great ideas
and enthusiasm.
As always, the SCNC is an organization that is
open to everyone. Whether you are new to Scituate or Cohasset or have
lived here for some time, the SCNC has something for everyone. Special
interest groups are constantly developing. This month is full of events
for everyone – Wine Tasting for the ladies, Monday Night Football for
the guys, New Member Wine and Cheese/Coffee, Book Club, Walking Group,
Cocktail Club and the Make and Take Kitchen to fill your freezers. We
are also excited about our first annual cookbook and Best of South
Shore Survey. Please get your recipes and
surveys in soon!
Now
is the time to renew your membership (a form is attached at the end of
this newsletter). Please return your membership form as soon as
possible (by September 14th if you want to participate in a playgroup)
so that you won’t miss any of this month's events. We look forward to
meeting you soon!
Best wishes,
Danielle Driscoll and Beth Golden, Co-Presidents
