Welcome to the Scituate Cohasset Newcomers Club (SCNC)!  Whether you've just moved or have lived here longer  the SCNC is a great way to get involved in your community and to make new friends.

Every month, we issue a newsletter which includes the schedule of social events.  Some events are geared toward adults, while others involve caregivers & tots or the entire family. Annual events include our Fall Kick-Off Party, Children's Halloween Party, Chili Cook Off and Summer BBQ.  Every season we add new events or revise old ones depending on the needs of our members.  Special interest groups are constantly developing as creative ideas are presented.  We hope you will find that the Club has a lot to offer from Ladies Night Out and Men's Group to Book Club, Playgroups and Pizza Parties, just to name a few.   The SCNC prides itself on its dedication to community service. We have involved ourselves with such groups as Habitat for Humanity and the Magical Moon Foundation and continue to find ways to help those in need.

We know you will find the club has just the right mixture to provide you with an easy and comfortable transition to the area or an opportunity to meet new friends.  So mark your calendars today and have some fun!

Summer is here! What beautiful weather we've had lately with 90 degree days, schools winding down and everyone ready for proper Summer to begin. As everything in our seaside communities winds down for the enjoyment of warmer months boating, fishing, swimming, clambakes etc, we've planned some great events to kickstart your Summer.

The ladies will be enjoying cocktails at the Red Parrot in Hull. Cocktail Club will celebrate the Solstice with Summer Cocktails as well as the famous Cohasset Punch! The End of Year Children's Party will be loads of fun at the Community Center with Gym Dandy, facepainting and bowling. Book Club will enjoy an evening at Bia's while Scrabble Club will have their last meeting of the year. The board will also be celebrating with our Board Change-Over Pot Luck Dinner.

Our Co-Ed Softball League, Book Club and Walking Group will continue to meet over the Summer. If your looking to keep busy with the kids this Summer please see our enclosed "Let's Meet Up Schedule" in the newsletter where you are sure to meet up with someone from the Club. Please save the date for our End of Year Clambake in July.

The Club has been such a success this year and we'd like to thank all the board and our members for this. The Seaside Boutique was a great event and our raffle raised $280 for Cradles to Crayons. Our members have donated time to Scituate Community Christmas, Cradles to Crayons and we will be donating some funds to the Scituate and Cohasset Food Pantries. New additions to the club - Dining Club and Game Nights have all been wonderful additions. All your enthusiasm and ideas add to our Club, please keep them coming. We'd like to announce that Amy Tarsala will be taking over as president next year. Please be in touch with her over the Summer if you'd like to be more involved.

Beth and I have had a wonderful time leading the Club this year. We can't believe how quickly the season went. It was great to meet so many new faces and learn more about our community. We are looking forward to the Summer and my family is looking forward to a new addition in September.
