Interest groups meet on a regular basis and
offer our members the
chance to participate in a different activity, learn a new skill or get
together with new or old friends. Members may participate in
the
activities of the interest groups at any time. Our members have found
that participation in an interest group is one of the best ways to make
new friends and have fun. So don't be shy! Join an
interest
group today and share good times with good friends!
- Book Club - Come join
us for a drink and a lively
discussion about a book chosen by the group. Meetings are
generally held the first Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm and
hosted by a member of the group. We've partnered with Front
Street Books in Scituate and Buttonwood Books in Cohasset to have
copies of our monthly book put aside for members and have negotiated a
discount for those who mention the club during purchase. Each
month the group chooses a new selection from a variety of fiction and
non-fiction books. Recent selections include The Innocent Man by
John Grisham, Middlesex
by Jeffrey Eugenides and The
Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. If
you are interested in learning
more about this group or receiving advance notice on upcoming book club
meetings, please contact bookclub@scnewcomers.com.
